Job Description

Senior Technology Engineer - Permanent - Victoria, London

On site 5 days per week
Don't need to be able to drive
9am to 5.30am Monday through to Friday
5-minute walk from Victoria train station
Some travel to their other offices in Europe which generally they are a max of 2 days per visit

My client is looking for a Senior Engineer that can work on 1st through to 3rd Line support issues, with a good mixture of Desktop/Infrastructure/Networking experience, so a generalist within IT Support. Working within a small team & can also be able to mentor to the more junior staff. Experience of MS Azure, O365 Suite of applications, All Microsoft desktop OS, Microsoft Server 2008 & higher, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS DHCP, Networking including VLANs, Wi-Fi technology, Remote connectivity tools

The Technology function is run at a corporate level & the roles are global operating across all locations. The role is responsible for first to third line support.

The Senior Technology Engineer is responsible for responding & resolving tasks relating to all levels of IT queries & acting as an escalation route for the IT team for more complex & project related tasks. You must be capable to review & escalate requests to suppliers & solution vendors as & when required.

To ensure that reactive & pre-emptive IT support actions are carried out competently, professionally & in a timely manner following the direction of the Group IT Manager. This role requires a proactive approach, & the Senior Technology Engineer is required to be sufficiently self-motivated to operate at level where they can when appropriate instigate solutions without needing direction in order to provide continuity of service. Working with the IT Manager to identify plan & deliver projects & system improvements depending on business needs & requirements. Responsible for the proactive monitoring, maintenance & support/escalation of the incoming IT support requests either by email, phone or internal ticketing system. To manage & oversee the day-to-day support element of the Group IT support desk.

Ensuring support requests are responded to in a timely manner & acting as an escalation route for more complex or large support issues. Offer mentorship & guidance to the Group IT support team & ensure continuity of support in the absence of the Group IT Manager. Responsible for the proactive monitoring, maintenance & support/escalation of the incoming IT support requests either by email, phone or internal ticketing system. To liaise with site-based IT contacts, including training & advising where necessary to ensure sites are fully informed & consistent. Working within compliance frameworks such as ISO27001, GDPR & PCI DSS to ensure the IT function has a standard way of working, ensuring compliance with a particular focus on security & data integrity.

Senior Technology Engineer essential experience
A proven track record of supporting complex disparate networks. Supporting all levels of business users including VIPs. Proven ability to instigate, manage & deliver often challenging projects, both technically & from a management perspective.

Degree level or equivalent
Microsoft Certified eg MCSE
