Job Description

The Role: DAZN's Broadcast Partnerships division works with leading rights holders including FIBA, WTA, and IPL. We represent them in the commercialisation of their media rights assets and will often provide consultancy and guidance across numerous areas including digital strategy, competition and scheduling, and production. As a key player within the commercial team of DAZN's Broadcast Partnerships division, you will work o define and implement sales and distribution strategies for our properties globally (with a focus on Europe). Your knowledge of the media landscape and proven track record in selling sports media rights will enable the business to come to you as the go-to expert. Your network of sports broadcasters, media companies and rights holders will also enable you to play an integral role in acquiring new rights for the Broadcast Partnerships team. This role will be based out of out Hammersmith office in London. As our new Media Rights Sales Director, you'll have the opportunity to:
  • Identify and execute sales opportunities that meet or exceed sales targets
  • Lead on subsequent contract negotiations in tandem with DAZN Legal
  • Manage broadcast partner relations and act as a liaison between rightsholders and broadcasters including timely delivery of information and contract & payment management
  • Assist in developing distribution strategies for our portfolio of broadcast rights in defined markets (primarily Europe), across all platforms, with market-by-market approach to revenue, audience, and brand growth in line with the defined strategy of our rights holding partners
  • Utilise research and leverage relationships to gather crucial empirical and anecdotal intelligence on sports properties and television and digital outlets. Drive strategic insights from findings to develop revenue opportunities
  • Work with and manage key relationships with broadcasters, rights holders, joint venture partners
  • Represent the business and our rights owner partners at key trade shows and conferences
You'll have:
  • Good knowledge of the sports and media rights landscape in Europe and beyond
  • Experience in media rights sales and negotiation
  • Network of contacts and relationships with key personnel at broadcasters and rights holders
  • Strong commercial awareness with an interest in current digital media consumption trends and solid understanding of the inner workings and business models of the different types of sports broadcasters
  • Willingness to travel, often at short notice
