Your future plans
Lead and manage your international team of Buyers to ensure procurement needs are fully met and deliver best value across the RWE business.
Develop team to utilise procurement tools available to our best advantage
Ensure short and long term value through formulation and implementation of category sourcing strategies to achieve the business objectives and/or the lowest Total Cost of Ownership and support Category Managers in developing strategic category plans if needed
Maintain supply chain security by having a market awareness and planning for different circumstances
Lead or support key supplier relationships ensuring that suppliers are meeting the demands of our contracts and that market and supplier intelligence is captured to feed into future procurement and category management strategies
Engage with key stakeholders in the business and ensure procurement are involved in all externally procured materials, goods and services and that appropriately tailored contracts are in place to mitigate the business from risk. Minimise "maverick" spend
Reporting line to Head of Other Indirect and Travel; Direct reports: 14 Buyers are planned
Key performance areas
Build good, strong relationships and networks across the businesses to promote collaborative working and engagement with stakeholders.
Review all current tenders and contracts and ensure the business is adequately covered for work to be carried out.
Ensure team are trained, have development plans and are able to carry out their roles effectively. Annual reviews with staff will be conducted along with the skill matrix annual update according to Procurement and HR guidelines.
Responsible for the integrity of the conduct of the procurement process in accordance with RWE Procurement and RWE Generation policies and processes and RWE AG Code of Conduct. Ensure you and your teams are familiar and comply with the Procurement Directives and the Code of Conduct.
To be a senior negotiator supporting more junior members of the team with your expertise as required
Your Profile
Relevant procurement or supply chain qualification. Additional post-graduate or professional qualification(s) will be an advantage, especially relevant degree and formal management qualification
A minimum of five years' experience of high value strategic sourcing involving complex services and processes.
Ability to work on an international level with other internal colleagues and external suppliers across the globe
Proven capability and skills in complex negotiations and deal closing
Ability to influence and manage across multi-disciplinary teams
Experience on working at a professional/expert level within a large company structure and dealing successfully with major vendors (such as Global OEM's) and delivering strategic approaches with such organisations
