Suffolk Internship Partnership (Suffolk County Council, Babergh/Mid Suffolk District Councils and East Suffolk Council)
£10.42 per hour (National Living Wage April 2023) (pro rata if part time)
35 or 37 hours per week, depending on the Council (part time working may be considered)
12 week internship

Job Details
A great opportunity for you to join either Suffolk County Council, East Suffolk Council or Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Council as an Intern for 12 weeks next Summer 2023. You will be working from various locations across Suffolk, depending on the placement.
It is a very exciting time to be working in Local Government. Service demand and financial pressures mean that we have to work in very different ways to meet these challenges. We are having to think differently about how we can deliver essential services in a dynamic, flexible and cost-effective way.
To help us do this we are looking for talented individuals who are comfortable working in a fast paced and evolving environment who can bring creativity and help shape our long-term sustainable solutions to the challenges we face.
In return, we can offer a paid Internship which will be a fantastic work experience opportunity with a supporting developmental programme during your 12 weeks of work. An excellent way to come and find out what it is really like to work in Local Government.
All Internships will start on 12 June 2023 making this a perfect opportunity to invest in your future and gain employability skills over the summer.
Suffolk County Council, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils and East Suffolk Council are some of the local government authorities responsible for maintaining countywide public sector services within Suffolk.

Your role and responsibilities
roles are normally based at one of our modern and conveniently located offices, with some hybrid working available. Our interns of 2022 told us that they got the most from their placement when they were in the office so we will encourage collaborative working as much as possible, depending on your placement
the internship programme is specifically designed for undergraduates studying in the UK who are seeking to gain and develop employability skills
we aim to provide the best opportunities across a range of services, which could include areas such as economic development and growth, housing, HR, families and communities and asset management to name a few.
You will need to:
be currently undertaking a degree level programme
be eligible to work in the UK
to be available to attend the selection day, which is essential, in Melton IP12 1RT on either 4th or 5th April 2023.

We will offer you
National Living Wage for your hours worked, and you will be eligible to book annual leave as and when accrued over the 12 weeks. Business travel expenses, where eligible, will be reimbursed
