The role
Making the move to Phoenix offers you the exciting prospect of being a key figure in a team of technical experts, this position will support the Head of Financial Crime Prevention in her role as SMF17 - MLRO, in the investigation and management of all Financial Crime related cases.
Reporting to the Head of Intelligence & investigations (Nominated Officer) you will be responsible for the management of the Intelligence & Investigations team on a daily basis which will include:
- In conjunction with the Head of Intelligence & Investigations, provide leadership to the team to effectively carry out its responsibilities and to deliver its activities in line with the annual Group Risk Mission, Mandate & Plan
- Ensuring continual development of the team, including delivering manager-led aspects of the Annual People Plan.
- Overseeing investigations conducted by the team, and our outsource partners, in a variety of different types of financial crime including suspected fraud and money laundering.
- Ability to plan and manage workloads and deliverables of the team
- Helping shape our intelligence led approach to investigations including our transaction monitoring capabilities, digital oversight, brand protection and fraud investigations.
What are we looking for?
- Experience of working in a financial crime team, law enforcement environment or similar is essential.
- Strong knowledge of key financial crime legislation such as Proceeds of Crime Act, Fraud Act etc.
- Experience of Financial Crime Investigations is essential including, but not limited to, investigating fraud or money laundering cases.
- Experience working within or with the financial services sector is essential, ideally within the Life & Pensions sector or similar.
- Awareness or exposure to financial crime systems used for Transaction Monitoring, Screening or Intelligence gathering would be an advantage.
- Ideally you have, or are working towards a professional qualification such as an ICA Diploma, ACAMS, AFCE or similar.
