With 1000+ lawyers, 300+ partners, 29 offices and 16 jurisdictions we are looking to expand our Finance Technology/Financial Services Regulatory team, with the addition of a FS Regulatory Associate. The opportunity for you Taylor Wessing's thriving FinTech practice is seeking an ambitious and energetic associate to join the group to focus on FinTech regulatory matters. The firm has a market leading technology practice and impressive technology client base. As a result, much of the work involves advising FinTech and other large technology and e-commerce clients on the implications of regulation in the financial services sector. For example, advising on the regulation of technology outsourcing, digital operational resilience and cloud computing, crypto assets and distributed ledger technology, artificial intelligence, and new models of payments and e-commerce. The growth in these areas and client demand mean there is now a need for an additional associate to support the team. You would also have the opportunity to get involved in other areas such as consumer finance, perimeter analysis, new product roll-outs, ESG and climate finance, investment structures, and wider financial services advisory matters. You would be working alongside lawyers with significant expertise in these areas, across both the financial services and technology teams. Knowledge, skills and experience Demonstrable interest in and exposure to FinTech regulatory aspects, whether in private practice or in 1 house at a FinTech. First rate technical and analytical skills, ideally evidenced by strong academic credentials. Enthusiasm to help develop a leading FinTech offering, across both the financial services, commercial and corporate groups of the firm. Interest in the policy side of FinTech regulation. The role will include reviewing and understanding policy developments in this area, as we frequently support clients with upcoming developments and their policy engagement. Existing understanding of technologies such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, distributed ledger technology, and/or some prior experience of data protection, strongly desirable, or otherwise a willingness to learn. Ambition to develop specialist expertise in particular areas of FinTech. Candidate must be able to take responsibility for their work and be able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Candidates must be both articulate and personable. They should also be able to demonstrate good client handling skills.
