Job Description

The Quality Engineer identify, investigate, analyse and correct problems in quality, production and general business control both in-house and at supplier locations. Working alongside the Quality Manager, the Quality Engineer will perform audits and implement corrective actions and new strategies to improve overall product quality.

My client are a long standing manufacturing business who are in strong position with their order book through an established client base.

Description

As the Quality Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Oversee quality engineering and Quality Technician resource in order to facilitate the implementation of the Quality processes, procedures and controls necessary to ensure the robust development, manufacture and supply of products at the South Wales facility.
  • Provide training, tools and techniques to enable others to achieve the required level of quality control within the business.
  • Measure and verify suppliers initial sample reports.
  • Report and respond to customer concerns and complaints.
  • Co-ordinate 8D analysis to ensure quick close out of customer concerns.
  • Analyse, control (booking in etc.) and report customer returns and warranty claims.
  • Dimensional verification of product utilising CMM and other metrology equipment.
  • Undertake Supplier Quality Audits.
  • Create and submit Customer PPAP.
  • Issue documentation to Production detailing quality concerns.

Profile

As the Quality Engineer you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience:

  • Ideally Degree qualified or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
  • Previous experience of working in Quality within an automotive related manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of ISO9001 standard.
  • Working knowledge of CMM and other metrology equipment.
  • Experience of inspection, fault finding, root cause analysis, 8D corrective action and PPAP.
  • Be able to read and interpret technical information and engineering drawings.
  • A high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel,Outlook and Powerpoint)
  • Ideally Internal Auditor trained and experience.
