About The RoleWe currently have an exciting opportunity for a career-minded individual to join us at Thames water as a Wastewater Process Technician in the
Newbury area. As the successful candidate your role will be to perform a range of assigned front-line activities including operation, testing, routine checks, maintenance, and problem-solving. Ensuring that services are delivered on time as well as within budget and to our high-quality standards in all weather conditions. In some cases, this will include planned and preventative maintenance tasks on process equipment to support the operation of the Waste Treatment Plant.
What we are looking for: - Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on plant and equipment in compliance with company standards and procedures to improve plant resilience.
- Sampling activities on wastewater to ensure compliance with environmental standards.
- Operating and cleaning plant and equipment to ensure on-site operational and health and safety standards are maintained
- Attending reactive jobs following plant and equipment failure
- Keeping sites clean and tidy and undertaking safety and security checks
- Always working safely and complying with all Health and Safety guidance and procedures.
We're looking for you to: - Be a self-motivated individual that can immerse themselves into the team around them, you need to be very disciplined and have the desire to learn from those around you, and have a can-do attitude. This role can be demanding at times but very rewarding too
- Take Ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to fully understand the problem, and identifying the best solution to resolve it the first time
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, to interact with the team
- Deliver exceptional service through an enthusiastic and positive approach, taking accountability for your role while working accurately and flexibly within a busy team
- Teamwork - We are one team and our end goals are the same
- Proactive - take the lead on recommendations and improvements around the site and communicate effectively
- Full Clean driving licence is required
What's in it for you?38 hours Monday- Friday to include 1 working weekend in every 6 weeks plus the inclusion onto a standby rota for which you will receive extra payment. There will also be the opportunity for additional overtime.
