As a Police Officer for Essex Police, you will have the opportunity to make a positive difference to the communities within Essex. Protecting life, building relationships, preventing crime and keeping people safe will be your main priorities. Full training and mentorship will be provided, setting you up for success.

Role: Police Officer

Location: Essex

Salary: £28,812- 29,682 (This includes £3,000 South East allowance)

Working hours: Variable. Full time, X5 days a week with X2 rest days. Working hours depend on shift patterns and on a rota basis. Will include unsociable hours.

Start: Dependent on vetting checks but will coincide with Essex Police intakes. Intakes are to take place: March 2023.

What you can expect:

  • No two days being the same!
  • Responding to and investigating 999 and 101 calls
  • Taking action at critical incidents to protect and serve the public
  • Tackling local crime, preventing further crime
  • Securing crime scenes
  • Patrolling areas to deter and disrupt crime
  • Ensuring public and colleague safety is at the forefront of all of your duties and all times

Essential requirements:

  • Must hold indefinite leave to remain in the UK
  • Must have resided in the UK for the last three years
  • Must be aged 17 years old or above
  • Must hold X3 A Levels graded A-C or equivalent and be able to evidence
  • Must not have applied or been unsuccessful for this role within any Police force within the last six months
  • Must consider yourself to be of good physical and mental fitness
  • Must have no outstanding CCJs, registered bankruptcy or Debt relief orders that are younger than three years

Desirable requirements:

  • Full UK Driving Licence(those with no licence would be expected to pass their test within 35 weeks of the start of your training if successful)
  • Clean Criminal convictions and Cautions record (If you hold one of these, acceptance will be at the discretion of the vetting team and based on age and nature of offence)
