About The Position
If you are a Civil Structural Engineer looking for your next challenge we would love to hear from you. We are currently seeking a high-calibre and motivated Civil Structural Engineer to join our expanding Civil and Structural Engineering team to deliver consultancy services and develop engineering solutions for our clients across industries such as Maritime/Coastal engineering, Industrial and Water. You will work closely with our highly skilled multi-disciplinary teams throughout the organisation and our clients to efficiently deliver projects and provide high value consultancy services.
You will be based in one of our UK offices.

The Civil Structural Engineer reports to a Team Leader and collaborates with all stakeholders cross disciplines including client liaison to achieve 'best for project' outcomes.
Responsibilities:
You are likely to work on a portfolio of different projects and will apply your acquired skills and knowledge in a range of environments.
Manage and undertake the gathering and review of planning data
Explain technical concepts to others including more junior colleagues and clients
Prepare or supervise the preparation of presentations and present information to internal and external groups
Provide updates to project managers/directors in terms of the progress of tasks in line with programmes
Ensuring that the technical content of all work carried out is correct and completed in accordance within agreed timescales and budgets.
Undertake project delivery tasks, which may include calculations, drawings, sketches and reports.
Provide technical guidance, support and training to colleagues and assist, where practicable, in mentoring and development of Graduate and Under-Graduate Engineers.
Work in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines.
Collaboratively use judgment to determine adaptations in methods for non-routine aspects of assignments.
Work on small projects or portions of larger projects you will assign tasks to and coordinate work with entry-level engineers, technicians or administrative staff.
Assists in determining schedule and budget requirements.
Specific Experience, Skills & Knowledge
Knowledge of Civil/ Structural engineering design of water retaining structures, below ground structures, buildings, ideally in a variety of sectors, structural forms and materials .
Basic knowledge of programming and resource planning as well as the ability to prepare, review and approve calculations, reports, drawings and design briefs relating to pipe work and process plant installations.
Preferential knowledge and experience with design work associated with Water and Wastewater Treatment plants.
Basic understanding of other specific multi-disciplines specifically process design and MEICA.
Knowledge and understanding of construction contracts preferable ( JCT, NEC)
Experience of working within a 3D design environment and an ability to work to BIM protocols

Qualifications / Skills
Honours degree in relevant discipline required
Working towards Chartered Engineer Status (ICE or CIWEM).
