As Roadside Procurement Manager you will be supporting the Category Head of Procurement in delivering the Group Procurement strategy across our roadside business, to ensure that the business maximises the value from third party spend, including cost reduction, working capital benefits, revenue generation and service delivery.
Within in this role, you will have significant impact on cost control, value delivery, supplier risk, compliance and business continuity related to the supply of goods and services to the roadside garaging business.
What will I be doing? - Support Head of Category Procurement members to develop and implement a Strategic Spend Management agenda (including annual category plans and 2-5-year roadmap) for the business spend area in line with corporate policies, procedures to achieve functional strategy and best value for money
- Business partnering with functional stakeholders, commercial finance leads to create sourcing strategies
- Lead on the sourcing strategy, selection, contract negotiation and execution, maintenance of suppliers for aligned business area to ensure appropriate supplier base who deliver to contractual agreement and outlined cost
- Lead and implement projects to support savings delivery and risk mitigation with ownership of a savings target and other key procurement metrics including payment terms
- Identify opportunities to generate efficiencies and improve cost and revenue, leveraging our preferred / or new suppliers to deliver cost reduction, provide market insight, revenue generation and operational efficiency
- Lead SRM for key strategic vendors and embed a robust performance management, working across boundaries where vendors are shared across categories
- Be aware of external market dynamics, and other external influencing factors
- Build strategic relationships with stakeholders, to understand business requirements, influence strategy and identify opportunities to create value and position procurement's value proposition
- Manage senior level stakeholders and challenge thinking, strategy or decisions by bringing strong commercial knowledge and market insights
- Working with the Procurement Analysts, leverage and maintain all MI and reporting data leveraging the SAP Ariba procurement system, including contracts, supplier classification and savings tracking
- Perform spend analysis and data manipulation in order to make sound commercial decisions
- Champion the Procurement Policy and guidelines across functions and ensure that they are consistently followed ensuring compliance and meeting statutory, regulatory and supplier governance obligations
What do I need? Capability, Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong experience of Procurement processes and full life cycle sourcing and category management, including opportunity and risk identification
- Experience of partnering business teams with the building and delivery of procurement strategies with budgets more than £10M per annum
- Strong communication skills to negotiate contracts, influence suppliers and manage stakeholders of all levels
- Strong experience of managing supplier relationships and outcomes, through MI, KPI's and SRM
- Experience of drafting and negotiating contracts
- Experience with understanding and challenging budgets; financial reporting of cost improvement on a P&L, covering CAPEX, OPEX, depreciation and cashflow
- Experience of using SAP Ariba or similar sourcing system desirable, as well as tools such as Power BI, excel, etc.
- Disciplines and Field: Procurement, Buying, Operational role in relevant category
- Procurement experience in relevant indirect procurement categories
