Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a client delivering exceptional solutions to meet the demands of today and tomorrow. The Client offers an extensive range of fibre optic cables for every environment.

Using your experience as a Quality Engineer, you will:

Report to the Plant Manager. This position is responsible for providing comprehensive quality support to the Telecom Business, including Optical Fibre Cable, Connectivity and Injection Moulding.
Maintain an established and certified ISO9001 QMS, including document control, CA/PA systems and calibration for the factory.
Define and maintain the quality control plans for different product families according to the existing standards, client standards and specific Customer requirements.
Ensure the correct application of work instructions, quality control plans, and Quality Management Systems procedures.
Plan and implement Quick Process Audits and their follow-up.
Ensure adequate tests and controls to verify product conformity, from incoming inspection of raw materials and components to final testing on finished goods.
Directly manage customer quality inspection visits/audits or Factory Accept Tests and provide product quality certification where needed.
Be responsible for customer complaints management, investigation and reporting - including customer site visits as necessary.
Drive Improvement Projects aimed at reducing internal nonconformities and relevant costs of poor quality (COPQ).
Introduce appropriate operational quality tools to monitor and reduce variation in the manufacturing processes and provide active feedback from routine, batch, and random testing and inspection.
Quality report for UK and Corporate Management on a defined set of measures (RFT, COPQ, number of Customer claims).
Conduct or play an active role in IMS internal audits and supplier audits.
Take an active role in Operations and Telecom Business Quarterly reviews.

Person Specification

You will need to be educated to a degree level in a Technical discipline.

We would also require experience in the following:

Previous quality management experience
Able to demonstrate proven analytical skills
Have a hands-on approach
Be capable of performing sample and cable testing when necessary
Knowledge of telecom products and processes
Excellent communication, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as a vital member of a team
