The role
In this role, you are responsible for the building and maintenance of tools to defined specifications and quality. This includes ensuring effective testing of your own work as well as peer checking of others, to ensure the high quality of work leaving the team. Working with end-users as well as other teams in Products & Proposition, you will be encouraged to own defined work items and drive them through to a satisfactory completion
What are we looking for?
You have excellent VBA, Excel and SQL skills which can be used in the build of tools to support Alpha calculations & statements as well as the maintenance of existing tools to support change projects/rate changes. You'll adhere to our EUC standards in the design of new complex tools/material changes to existing tools.
You'll have good communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts in well-structured messages that can be understood by the end customer, providing updates at all stages of the process to deliver services in a timely manner to meet expectations.
You will be capable of making effective decisions under pressure whilst maintaining a high level of output and quality, aligning to our risk control framework and making suggestions for improvements were deemed appropriate to mitigate risks. Ideally, you'll have a good understanding of the Software development lifecycle & Life and Pensions experience or experience in a financial services environment.
Essential:
- Strong VBA, Excel and SQL Skills
- Financial Services experience
Desirable:
- Experience using Python
