Maintenance Engineer
Suffolk/Cambridgeshire
Commutable from Cambridge, Newmarket, Bury St. Edmunds, Thetford, Ely, Haverhill, Mildenhall£40,000-£45,000 + Overtime
Monday - Friday Days

Our client is a leading one of the UK's leading materials processing & manufacturing companies. A business that has seen year-upon-year increased profits for the past 16 years. Due to growth within the business they are looking for an experienced maintenance engineer to join their day shift team.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Carry out preventative maintenance and condition monitoring of production machinery & facilities
- Working on industrial processing & manufacturing equipment, CNC machinery, conveyors
- Diagnose faults & repairs on machines
- Dealing with hydraulics, pneumatics, inverters, motors, control panels, PLC's, drives, gearboxes
- Safety inspections of tools and equipment
- Minimise machine downtime, continuous improvement projects
- Complete written record of all maintenance activities
- Carry out welding tasks on production machinery to make repairs - MMA, MiG, Arc
- Work to improve reliability and productivity of equipment
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
- Must have experience of working in a similar role in a heavy manufacturing industry
- Transferable industries are building products, steel, concrete & heavy plant manufacturing
- Ideally be an experienced multi-skilled engineer that is comfortable sometimes working on their own
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical drives, gearboxes, belts, transmissions
- PLC - electrical fault finding
- Qualified in electrical & mechanical engineering
- Strong electrical & mechanical fault finding & diagnosis skills
- Dealt with inverters, control panels, instrumentation
- Must be a team player, willing to get stuck into all areas of engineering
- Have used hand power tools - abrasive wheels, plasma cutters, drills, punches
- Fabrication & welding experience - MiG, Arc, MMA
- Must hold a valid UK driving licence
- Forklift & MEWP licence desirable
