WHAT TO EXPECT

The Transmission, Driveline and EDU Quality Team within Powertrain Engineering (Rotating Machines), requires an experienced engineer to apply world class problem solving and analysis skills to drive in further continuous improvement to Jaguar Land Rover's capability to achieve the highest levels of reliability, robustness, and customer satisfaction.

The Transmission, Driveline and EDU TADe Quality Engineer role supports technical issue resolution within the commodity. The successful person will have the opportunity to interface with core engineering team, problem solving technical guidance, generic quality issue management and process development across the TADe quality team. In addition, support quality issue resolution delivery, using 8D DMAIC process methodology, across all vehicle lines and derivatives and provide support for the progression of the 8D process through PCA implementation and PRA completion.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

Customer issue resolution delivery and problem-solving technical excellence using the appropriate methodologies.
Supporting the use of common approaches for tools, analysis techniques, processes and reports in order to improve the TADe quality team efficiency.
Technical analysis of customer issues using appropriate diagnostics tools.
Prevent recurrence initiation at the D4 step, to ensure improved timing to D7 PRA implementation.
Applying lessons learnt and best practises.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

We are looking for talented individuals who are engaging with the ability to communicate and present information effectively. In addition, the ability to make effective decisions in the best interest of the business and customer.

Essential:

Experience of applying a Scientific / logical approach to problem solving using the appropriate methodology, e.g., 8D & 6-Sigma DMAIC.
Knowledge of Transmissions, Driveline and EDU components and system integration.
Knowledge of EV system diagnostics and be able to interrogate system diagnostic tools.
Data analysis and interpretation with the ability to drive analysis direction.

Desirable:
6-Sigma Green Belt or enrolled on Green Belt training programme.
Experience of liaising and working alongside JLR dealer workshops and technical service support. Liaising with the LPE teams to support TA throughput and resolution.
Degree in relevant engineering discipline or in associated subjects such as Mechanical, Automotive, Electrical or other technical qualifications.
Proficient use of the PR-AIMS issue resolution process.
Data logging and log file analysis using standard applications such as CANAlyzer.
