Role: Public Affairs ManagerLocation: Hybrid - in office twice a week. Heavily subsidised travel. Salary: Up to £48,000 plus benefits
This is a 12 month maternity cover contract engagement. The current role holder is due to finish up at the end of January.
Over the coming year, there's one thing you're absolutely not going to be with this role and that's bored!
This transport and travel industry giant hasn't really left the media's eye for the last 6+ months, which means if you do a good job - not only is your work going to be very public. It's also going to result in some pretty amazing achievements for your CV too.
You'll be responsible for leading engagement with external audience stakeholders. Creating various assets in the form of communications, briefings, articles and various other elements within the toolkit which can help garner support, influence decision making or mitigate negative market commentary.
These interested parties will include Parliamentary bodies, MPs and their respective offices, various interest groups and committees.
There's going to be a lot of relationship building and management needed as part of your role. Both with high profile MP's as well as senior industry people, right up to CEO level.
In addition to the reactive will be pro-active PA campaign work.
This isn't lobbying, as that's not something this business needs to do. It's principally aligned to change and transformation work going on in the business, stuff which requires stakeholder engagement pieces, or devising plans on how to gather support for those change plans.
As well as 3-4 big projects of work the business is undertaking to raise awareness of certain programmes of work they're doing for good in the industry.
