WiggleCRC are looking to recruit a Design Manager - Apparel to join the team in our Portsmouth office!

What will you be doing as a Design Manager?
Your role is to lead the apparel design team to ensure the on-time delivery of all products, for specific categories, markets and end users. Manage and set the design direction, ensure all designs fit with the brands and commercial expectations. Lead your category to manage change and process development, driving appropriate behaviours.

Working hours:
Full time role covering Maternity cover with hybrid working. In the office twice a week: Tuesdays and Wednesdays

Key Accountabilities:
Managing a team of apparel designers
Ensure strong cross functional work of the design team with development, sourcing, CSR and fabrics.
Define the way the design team research and understand new design trends and colour in the marketplace, co-ordinating to ensure the team work effectively with key departments.
Working to ensure all designs fit with the design guidelines whilst delivering the commercial expectations, supporting pre-costing/ product feasibility.
Own Design direction/guidelines and colour process.
Own the delivery of the design critical path to ensure all key dates are hit
Own key stages gates of Concept and design sign off meetings, ensure design have an influence within the prototype process
Provide clear updates on sample design progress
Collaborate with sourcing and development team to review and analyse price quotations from suppliers to ensure we are designing within the commercial constraints.

Experience:
Extensive Design and performance sports design experience
Customer insight and research
Strong critical path management experience
Experience of managing and developing people
