Provide expert advice, support and challenge to managers and budget holders, ensuring compliance with all statutory, regulatory and best practice accounting standards and requirements. To ensure that there is integrity and strong control in the relevant ledgers to provide accurate figures with robust audit trail.
As a Financial Accountant, your main responsibilities would be to:
- Take lead responsibility for the financial assurance and governance. This to include managing accounting policies, ensuring compliance with IFRS and FReM, production of the Annual Report and Accounts and managing the period end close process as well as taking ownership for the audit process.
- Maintaining governance and control over the fixed asset base. This involves becoming the key point of expertise regarding fixed asset registers, supporting and contributing to the capital strategy, ensuring compliance with IFRS and FReM, and producing regular monthly reports to Boards and the relevant elements of the Annual Report and Accounts.
- Production of the relevant notes for the Annual Report and Accounts.
You'll have relevant experience in:
- Qualified (CCAB or equivalent)
- Significant relevant experience for the position of interest, including financial control and analytical skills.
- Experience of financial accounting and/or management accounting.
- Experience of working with IFRS, FReM or other statutory reporting frameworks.
- Experience of SAP or similar system.
- Experience in delivery of month end and year-end financial processes.
- Experience of managing the production of accurate and timely financial accounts (Financial Accountant).
