Overview of job
In this role you will be jointly responsible for leading the team tasked with putting data at the heart of Global's approach with our clients and specialists. Your focus will be on the strategy, implementation, and innovation of Outdoor data.
You will drive the agenda both internally across the Commercial department, and at senior levels with our customers, to improve the value of our Outdoor data products.
You will lead on the future development of Global's data proposition across Outdoor. Whilst working with the Head of Data Strategy - Audio & Digital, and the Data and Programmatic Director, to drive Global's overall data proposition forward - and identify synergies between Outdoor and Audio data.

Measures of success -
In the first few months, you would have:
- Worked with the Head of Data Strategy - Audio & Digital and the Data and Programmatic Director to set the key objectives for Data Strategy to deliver the needs of the wider business.
- Ensured that all existing Outdoor data work is delivered to a high standard as the team transitions into the new structure.
- Worked with Head of Data Strategy - Audio & Digital to define the detailed role and responsibilities of each team member within that structure.
- Evolved our data propositions across Outdoor and begun the process of creating an aligned data story to market with the Head of Data Strategy - Audio and Digital.
- Worked to establish the role of Data Strategy with other key partners within Global.
- Attended / led meetings with key clients and begun to manage our data relationships with the outdoor specialist agencies.
Responsibilities of the role
Lead the Data Strategy team to:
- Ensure that our Outdoor data capabilities are compellingly articulated to clients in proposals and brief responses.
- Ensure that Outdoor data insight is of consistently high quality at every stage of the process - from planning to reporting.
- Build strong alignment with colleagues across the Commercial department so that Outdoor data is used in the right way, at the right times, and to full effect.
- Work with Head of Data Strategy - Audio & Digital to lead the positioning of Global's data capabilities and products.
- Ensure that each Global channel - Outdoor, Radio, DAX - has a clearly defined data offering.
- Lead projects and initiatives that will create a 'One Global' data offering across our channels.
- Play a key role in defining how our data product roadmap should evolve to meet the needs of customers and the market.
- Ensure Global are at the ground-breaking of Outdoor data.
- Work with our customers to understand their needs and identify areas we can innovate in Outdoor data to help deliver on these.
- Find opportunities to bring in new data sets, or develop new products (internally with Data Product, or externally with partners) that meet the identified needs.
- Lead on the product positioning and launch of any new Outdoor data products, ensuring our internal teams and our customers understand and ultimately activate them.
What you will need
The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:
- A strong understanding of the digital media landscape and the role that data and technology play.
- To be an absolute expert in Outdoor data.
- Experience of presenting to, building relationships with, and influencing senior customer partners.
- A demonstrable track record of writing effective client proposals, and developing scaled, data-driven partnerships with advertisers and agencies.
- The ability to translate complex products into simple, compelling market facing propositions.
- Proven experience of building and leading teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively with partners from multiple teams across a business.
- Commercial nous.
