The Role - Trainee Recruitment Consultant

Recruitment is essentially a sales role - you are selling people to people (professional matchmaking if you will).

As a recruitment consultant your role is split into two parts: Business development and candidate sourcing.

Business Development

- Cold calling potential new clients

- Building and maintaining relationships

- Going to client meetings to keep up to date on hiring criteria

Candidate Sourcing

- Headhunting, Advertising, Networking, Database

- Screening CV's

- Interviewing candidates

- Prepping candidates for interviews

Throughout the process you will act as the 'middleman', navigating the process and ensuring both sides know who they are seeing and when, and then gathering feedback from your client and candidate. When an offer is put on the table it is then your responsibility to negotiate the best deal for your candidate.

Earning Potential:

Year 1: £35,000 OTE

Year 2: £50,000 OTE

Year 3: £100,000 OTE

Career Development:

0-6 months: Trainee Recruitment Consultant

6-12 months: Senior Recruitment Consultant

12-18 months: Managing Consultant

18-30: Principal Consultant

30+ months: Associate Director
