You will be working 37.5 hours a week at The Chimneys Clinic, a 12 bedded service providing specialist care that is specifically designed to support women that have a diagnosis of an emerging or personality disorder.
Working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will oversee service users' assessments to identify and prioritise their needs before planning and delivering the appropriate and relevant interventions.
With experience from the NHS and/or private sector, you will be responsible for managing a complex caseload using evidence-based and people-focused principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate individual and group interventions.
You will lead by example as you complete assessments, plan, implement intervention and evaluate outcomes of each individual's care pathway, which will support the service users to develop their skills in self-maintenance, productivity and leisure.
As a Lead Occupational Therapist, you will create individual rapports to design, deliver and develop living skills, rehabilitation, and educational opportunities/therapies under the strategic direction of the Therapy Lead.
With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a variety of online and CPD training courses to support you reach your career goals.
Other responsibilities:
Participate fully with the multidisciplinary team and encourage the service users to be fully engaged in their care pathway
To support clinical team working, including both direct interventions and the delivery of staff training programmes
Attend any meetings called by the Therapy Lead, and will develop therapies (and make any changes to the therapy provision)
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A BSc (Hons) in Occupational Therapy together with full Royal College of Occupational Therapist membership and Active HCPC registration
Experience in assessing people with a variety of psychometrics and risk assessment tools
To be able to work therapeutically, engaging people in developing insight and coping skills to manage their complex needs
Experience in supervising and managing junior members of the team
To operate within professional boundaries and in line with the RCOT/HCPC Code of Conduct at all times
Full and clean UK driving licence
At least 3 years' experience, with at least 1 years' experience of working within the specialised area i.e. Mental Health/PD services
