As part of the Insight & Impact team and reporting into the Insight Lead, the Customer & Market Insight Officer is responsible for planning and delivering strategic and tactical customer & market insight relating to St John's key audiences including volunteers, donors and employees. The Officer will apply their advanced quantitative and qualitative research skills to select the most appropriate methodology to design, analyse and synthesise insights, and highlight actionable recommendations to core stakeholders across the organisation. Working collaboratively, this role will support the use of insight-led decision-making across St John at an exciting time in the charity's history.

About You:

  • Significant experience of project managing quantitative research (primarily) and qualitative research
  • Experience of independently using quantitative and qualitative research tools for designing and analysing research output (e.g. survey tools / platforms e.g. Q, SPSS)
  • Experience of analysing, triangulating and synthesising data from multiple sources to generate actionable insights
  • Experience of creating strategic partnerships with key internal stakeholders to drive insight-led decision making through St John
  • Experience of working with stakeholders to interpret their organisational / functional objectives into defined insight needs

About The Role:

  • You will be responsible for designing and managing various B2B and B2C insight projects which deliver actionable insight to a range of internal stakeholders, including Communications & Engagement, HR, Training, Fundraising and Marketing
  • Responsible for using in-house research tools to design appropriate surveys, interviews, etc. to meet the research objectives of each project across a range of research projects, from engagement surveys, experience/satisfaction surveys, segmentation of key audiences by attitudes, to brand tracking and new product/service concept testing
  • Independently apply advanced quantitative techniques (e.g. cluster analysis, regression, correlation, etc.) to primary data in order to draw out key findings and present results to stakeholders
  • Support the Insight Lead to build the Insight team's reputation and credibility as a strategic partner both internally and, where relevant, externally through external research agency relationships.
  • Support the Insight Lead on strategic projects - both internally and through the commissioning of research agencies to deliver bespoke research for St John.
