About the role
We are going through an exciting transformation, and we have an opportunity for an Internal Communications Business Partner to be at the heart of our strategy.
We're looking for an experienced Internal Communications professional to business partner senior stakeholders in the largest area of our business. Reporting into the Head of Internal Communications and Engagement, you will help deliver large transformation initiatives that impact colleagues' ways of working. The Business Partner will also be a senior member of the internal communications team, driving cross business initiatives and improving comms performance.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the delivery of strategic internal communications projects and programmes
- Partner key areas of the business, particularly our Chief Operations Office, to support change and transformation, deliver projects and provide advice on the most effective ways to engage colleagues, as well as developing a strategy, plan, content and material to deliver against the required communication objectives of each area.
- Responsible for contributing to and driving the delivery of the internal communication and colleague engagement strategy
- Cross collaborate to develop impactful and measurable communications that support HL in it's transformation, achieving its vision and delivers the overall internal communications strategy
- Regularly seek, collate and analyse internal communication feedback and data and use this to draw insight and suggest future improvements.
- Deputise for the Head of Internal Communications and Colleague Engagement
- Mentor, train and support the development of other Internal Communications colleagues
About you
- Significant experience of business partnering within internal communications, in a fast-paced environment with large operational business units
- Knowledge and understanding of employee engagement and change communications
- Able to work with and provide constructive challenge to senior stakeholders
- Experience of managing communication during change and transformation
- Exceptional writing and proofing skills, ability to write clear and concise communications tailored to a range of audiences at all levels
- Accomplished at sourcing and shaping stories from across a business and sharing them with a wider audience
- Skilled at partnering with experts to understand complex issues, identify key points to be addressed and develop effective, practical and simple communication plans
- Proactive, organised and self sufficient

Working Schedule
The role is based in our Bristol head office, BS1 5HL. This role is permanent, full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. We have returned to the office, however for this role we offer a hybrid flexible working pattern.
