Marine Engineering & Systems The Project Planner role is based within our Marine Engineering & Systems business area. At our sites in Keynsham and Devonport, we aim to deliver engineering-led and world-leading products and services across our engineering, specialised manufacturing, gas handling systems and naval marine businesses. The role The difference our new Project Planner will make As a Project Planner, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. We are currently recruiting within the Dreadnought Project Management Office (PMO) in Keynsham. Babcock are charged with delivery of Design, Integrated Logistic Support and Programme Support to the MoD UK new build' and in-service' submarine fleet across all classes of vessels. From system feasibility analyses of engineering problems and solutions to fully incorporated design changes Babcock support the entire design lifecycle. They are the key components ensuring that the nation's nuclear submarines are available and ensure the nuclear deterrent is always maintained, known as the Continuous At Sea Deterrent (CASD). Day to day, you'll develop and maintain the Control Account schedules in conjunction with the CAMs and Engineering Team Leads. You'll support CAM Monthly Performance reviews with schedule, cost and risk reporting data. Evaluate the Control Account schedule progress and cost performance metrics, whilst identifying problem areas. Support CAMs with P6 schedule progress updates, cost information, resourcing and change control. Monitor and advise project on Contractual Milestones, Key Deliverables, Key Dependencies and KPIs. Facilitate Risk & Change Management workshops by coordinating with project and engineering management. At Babcock, we have a history of helping talent go far. Essential experience Good understanding of risk management and schedule risk analysis Ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external staff, at all levels within the Submarine Enterprise, including senior management Experience with EVM systems and performance metrics analysis & reporting is desirable Demonstrate project management, controls and planning techniques Significant experience with MS Office PowerPoint and Excel Professional working knowledge of project management and planning software tools.
