A phenomenal opportunity for an experienced FC or Head of Finance to join a privately owned global real estate investment business in the number 1 finance role for the UK and Europe. With an established and long standing asset base in commercial property, this is a brand name business open to candidates from any medium to larger sized real estate, asset management or financial services background; international and/or European experience a big plus.
Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for leading the Corporate Accounting function across the the UK and several overseas offices in delivering all statutory, regulatory and group reporting requirements.
- Leadership and management of a small team of qualified accountants (all based in London).
- Development of the monthly P&L and variance analysis between actuals and budget/forecast. Work with regional deal teams to ensure they understand the P&L and current business assumptions are embedded within the monthly management reporting.
- Overall responsibility for developing and managing the corporate budget, working with Region Heads and local businesses to develop the quarterly forecast and annual budget to capture local business insight to drive business performance.
- Improve operating efficiency of financial systems, identifying new technologies, conduct cost/benefit analysis and make recommendations. Help manage local implementation of the General Ledger upgrade. Stay current on new systems and tools through research, association membership, and events.
- Drive efficient cash management, including cashflow projections, distribution planning, FX exposure management and timely collection of receivables across the platform.
- Leadership of the offshore team in Poland who provide transactional level support (largely AP & AR). Thought leadership and practical implementation of further activities suitable for outsourcing across Corporate, Properties and Funds.
- Ultimate responsibility for payroll across thirteen pay-groups.
- Functional head of finance for Europe and main point of contact for a huge array of internal and external stakeholders.
Your background:
- Fully qualified accountant - ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent - preferably with initial training in an accounting firm; more than likely around the 10-12 years PQE mark.
- Relevant experience in a technical and/or commercial Finance role in a leadership position; must have proven credentials as a people leader and someone who has built or developed teams.
- Financial reporting bias to your background in a complex operating structure with experience of typical issues affecting a group structure, ie: transfer pricing etc.
- Proven experience operating in a regulated financial services environment.
- Experienced at writing management variance commentary.
- Self-organised and deadline orientated; embraces change, comfortable in unfamiliar territory.
- Robust and confident manner; open-minded with natural inquisitive nature.
- Strong interpersonal and business partnering skills.
