Introduction

Are you a Clinical Psychologist looking for a new part-time opportunity to be part of an established multidisciplinary team, contributing to the psychology provision and ongoing development of the psychology team? We do have full time opportunities as you can work between this site and another in Hereford. This role is pro rata at £53,000 and is available full or part time.

Working 28 hours per week, you'll provide person-centred care and rehabilitation for people living with neurological and long-term conditions, including those living with physical disabilities and recovering from traumatic injuries.

As an enthusiastic and dynamic Clinical Psychologist, you will assist in the development and provision of the neuropsychological provision and working alongside the multidisciplinary team, you will be interested in developing and expanding their skills in clinical neuropsychology.

Our Clinical Psychologist role involves:

Deliver Clinical Neuropsychology input as a specialist discipline under the professional supervision and management of the Consultant Clinical Psychologist
Deliver successful strategic and clinical strategies underpinning the business plans
Engage in teaching, service evaluation and research as agreed, and participating in a local CPD programme.
You will provide specialist psychological assessments, interpretation and integration of complex data from psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with service users, family members and the wider team

To be successful as the Clinical Psychologist, you will need:

To be the recipient of a British Psychological Society accredited and HCPC approved Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
Registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the HCPC
Experience in working with individuals with neurological conditions
Ambition to develop a career in Clinical Neuropsychology and an interest in neurobehavioral rehabilitation

Where you will be working

The Dean Neurological Centre has 60 beds in Gloucester (GL2 9EE), which is on the outskirts of the town within easy commute from Gloucester, Cheltenham with good transport links.

The Centre delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people living with complex long-term neurological conditions who require ongoing support and assistance to maximise functional ability and independent living.

It specialises in slow stream rehabilitation where the emphasis is placed on maximising each individual's abilities, comfort and quality of life.

Bedrooms are fitted with high dependency equipment, including ceiling track hoists built in suction and oxygen equipment. There are also well-equipped therapy spaces and other facilities such as gardens, gym and minibus.
