Senior Process Engineer

Alecto Recruitment are looking for an experienced Process Engineer or similar work on our client's plant in Swindon who is a market leader in creating low carbon fuels.

Responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Act as technical authority on process design/engineering topics,
- Represent Project at seminars/conferences/workshops on all issues related to Process Engineering and Flow Assurance
- Able to work independently to an agreed plan and timescale, identifying and resolving process issues which are critical for project objective, schedule and cost.
- Ensure that works are undertaken in accordance with safe methods of work, using standard operating procedures, correct PPE, and safety assessments, and help develop these safe methods of work where they do not exist.
- Participate in (and where necessary lead) safety assessments and meetings (e.g. Hazop, DSEAR, P&ID reviews, and risk assessments) relating to plant modifications, additions etc.
- Ensure the working environment is safe and in a clean condition.

Essential
- Ability to work safely, and to ensure the safety of others, complying with all safety assessment requirements.
- Ability to take a leading role in and champion plant safety, e.g. Hazops, risk assessments, use of safety equipment, etc., and participate, where needed, in health and safety meetings.
- Expert abilities in development, use, interpretation, documentation of AspenTech Aspen Plus models.
- Ability to work as part of a team, work independently, and to lead multi-disciplinary teams. Organising, monitoring and reporting the work activities of others.
- Work flexibly in terms of working patterns, location, and reporting lines, as required for project delivery.
- Must have Process/Chemical Engineering degree qualifications (Masters or above).
- Willingness to undertake training to ensure safe operation of plant (e.g. compressed gases, CoSHH, etc.).
Desirable
- Familiarity with Engineering, Procurement and Installation (EPCI) processes, Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and Contract Tendering.
- Ideally significant experience (5+ years) in similar environment.
- Computer literate and competent.
