Criminal Regulatory Solicitor / Associate or Legal Executive - The team is looking for someone with solid, proven experience in a crime and regulatory role who is looking for a new opportunity in a dynamic and exciting team. This expanding team deals with a broad range of matters from motor crime to healthcare regulatory and environmental matters to corporate manslaughter.

Overview

• Job Title: Solicitor or Legal Executive
• Location: Greater Manchester
• Salary: £50,000 - £70,000
• Reports to: Partner
• Previous experience: Experience gained at a respected crime and regulatory team preferably from a defendant insurance practice.

Experienced regulatory lawyer sought

This is an opportunity for an experienced fee earner. Ideally, candidates will already have developed strong regulatory experience and be looking for a step up. In particular, the successful applicant will be expected to:

• Advise a range of clients from insured to insurers, as well as brokers on everything from strategy and action plan right through to all aspects of the matter, investigation or inquest.
• Review prosecution's disclosure and review of own evidence and be able to assess what further information and evidence may be required
• Advise on charges, pleas, sentencing guidelines as well as mitigation arguments
• Liaise with Insured and Insurers re policy indemnity and coverage
• Attend Court in relation to initial case management hearings and make appropriate representations where required
• Lead meetings and conferences and agree plan of action for next steps with insured and Counsel
• Liaise with Prosecution re basis of pleas, negotiations on charges as well as with experts regarding reports and evidence at hearings
• Attend PACE interviews and HSE investigations
• Assist on high profile, high value cases when required

The team has been structured in order to advise various clients across a broad spectrum of work. Rather than lawyers being allocated to certain clients or focusing on one particular area of regulatory work, fee earners are given the opportunity to develop their expertise, gaining as much far-ranging experience as possible.
