Optivo is a growing organisation that is customer and colleague focussed. We are preparing for our forthcoming merger with Southern Housing Group. We are planning the merger to take place in the coming weeks creating a new 77,000 homes organisation.

If yes, we have the perfect role for you as our Financial Planning Analyst!

As our Financial Planning Analyst, you will help provide a sophisticated, flexible and robust financial analytical resource for the group.

Taking particular responsibility for maintaining the team's knowledge resources including market research of relevant published information group publications, using these to update economic and business forecasts as appropriate.

You will:

  • Help the team plan and deliver key financial and regulatory outputs, liaising with other departments to capture up-to-date financial planning data, maintaining information and audit trails to support financial forecasting outputs and decisions.
  • Maintain a metrics database to monitor Group performance against key financial indicators including internal 'golden rules', credit ratings agencies financial metrics and lender financial covenants.
  • Research relevant publications and economic and market commentary by Regulator of Social Housing, credit ratings agencies, professional advisors and our peers, benchmarking our financial performance and making reasoned recommendations to update our economic and business assumptions and forecasts as appropriate.
  • Support knowledge management activities and processes across the team, monthly management reviews of the business; arrange meetings, prepare papers, take notes. Support Brixx software licensing, training and related activities.
  • Contribute to an engaged and high performing FP&A team; prioritise tasks to meet key milestones; apply judgement showcasing the highest professional standards, culture of continuous improvement and exemplary Optivo CORE values.

What you'll need

  • Professional qualification in accounting, treasury, banking or equivalent (such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CF, ACT, ACIB), or commitment to work towards one
  • Understanding of key long term financial planning approaches and principles
  • Knowledge of financial reporting, financial benchmarking, interpretation and analysis of financial statements and metrics is desirable
  • Excellent Excel modelling skills and model discipline
  • Prior training to use financial planning software (Brixx) is highly desirable
