WHAT TO EXPECT
The Transmissions, Driveline and Engine Delivery team is responsible for engineering transmission, driveline systems and engines for Jaguar Land Rover. The scope of the team covers Hardware and Software.
This specific role is that of Programme Module Lead - V8 Engine. This person is responsible for developing and delivering a large capacity V8 engine against the unit programme gateways while working closely with the JLR internal/ externalteams (e.g., purchasing & finance, manufacturing, etc.) and managing delivery into the vehicle platforms.
Key accountabilities and responsibilities
Develop & maintain timing plan(s) in line with PCDS to achieve timely delivery of the commodity
Lead internal & external reviews (e.g., CPMT, PBR, PST, CTQ, etc.)
Act as key programme interface with all internal & external stakeholders
Responsible for programme central completion and gateway sign-off
Lead & support programme paper creation and presentation
Manage programme specific BoM(s), engine attributes & targets between JLR and engine partner
Support programme cost status control & alignment
MP&L interface to engine partner and suppliers
Sourcing of hardware & software for programme build and test events
Lead & support Agile activities (e.g., Jira board, Domain showcase, BRP, etc.)
Manage key JLR tools (e.g., AIMS, RMDV, etc.)
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
Essential:
Strong technical background with proven knowledge of engine development
Awareness of the latest emissions requirements (e.g., EU7)
Clear communication skills
Demonstrable leadership skills
Proven ability to Project Manage the delivery of similar commodities to tight PCDS timescales
Able to communicate confidently at all levels within the business/ suppliers
Proven ability to manage a diverse, long distance supplier base
Self-motivated and able to deliver with minimum supervision
Working knowledge of Agile principles
Willingness to travel in between sites but with overseas travel for a day every quarter to Germany
Desirable:
A working knowledge of JLR engineering disciplines and demonstrable use of key JLR delivery systems (AIMS, WERS, RMDV, PCDS, DVP)
Strong commercial awareness, with experience of negotiating and managing programme attributes & targets
