The department Lewissilkinhouse is Lewis Silkin's flexible resourcing service which provides clients with temporary lawyers and paralegals on an interim basis to cover for absence, busy periods or assist with projects. It was established in 2013 and is one of the first law firms providing an offering of this kind. Responsibilities We are looking for lawyers to join the employment division of Lewissilkinhouse, a specialist group within our Employment and Immigration division, which advises on all aspects of UK Employment law. Many of our clients who use our in-house service are well-known multinational household names with large employee bases across a variety of sectors including media, technology, professional services, retail and financial services. Lewissilkinhouse employment lawyers are engaged on various different types of contracts including fixed-term and zero hours employment contracts. Our in-house lawyers receive a competitive remuneration package with access to extensive employee benefits and are fully integrated into the firm's Employment, Immigration and Reward team. They are invited to all the team's social events, training and know how sessions and have access to the team's template and precedent documents. They usually work exclusively at clients' premises though post pandemic some clients are considering a hybrid working pattern. Placements are generally full-time but part-time placements, typically 4 days per week do also arise from time to time. Placements are largely based in Central London but can be based elsewhere including Greater London, the M4 corridor and further afield. Additional information The role would suit an employment lawyer with excellent academics, strong interpersonal skills and a high level of private practice experience. Candidates should have excellent knowledge and practical experience of UK employment law and be up-to-date with recent developments. Some previous in-house legal and/or Employee Relations experience, plus international exposure, would be beneficial. All levels of PQE are welcome to apply. IT skills required: Competency in MS Office suite. Professional qualifications required: Candidates should be a qualified UK lawyer with a current UK practising certificate or overseas equivalent.
