Job Description

We are looking for a Regional Planning Director to join the Mindshare team, working closely across some of the world's leading brands to deliver best in class client service, media and marketing planning expertise, operational acceleration and bigger picture digital leadership.

You will be responsible for the regional strategy and planning with a heavy digital focus, as well as seamlessly integrating digital media and into other media channels and be the champion of media integration with media, data and technology at the heart for Volvo EMEA. You'll have the opportunity to work across markets and teams building strong relationships with all key stakeholders (clients, fellow Planning experts, and various other Mindshare teams). You must be positive, proactive and solutions driven at the heart. We operate a fully integrated cross channel approach to deliver Volvo's media objectives.

This role is dedicated to leading a group of markets integrated planning responses in collaboration with MS local market teams and our regional clients, client leadership and operational project management in the hub. Working alongside a specialist channel delivery team and an overarching digital hub lead. Whilst being a key point of daily contact for our local hub connectors in applicable markets, you will also be responsible for building a strong relationship with the Volvo EMEA media team, Local Volvo stakeholders, Local Volvo Mindshare teams & Mindshare Global Client Leadership team.

A digital native and expert in cross-channel video, programmatic, search and social media, you'll play a key role in shaping the client's approach to brand and performance focused, multi-layered campaigns.

With a strong sense of professional curiosity and interested in developing your knowledge of issues within the digital industry, you'll provide a knowledgeable point of view on matters that are currently being debated and that directly impact our client's broader business (not just live campaigns and markets).

REPORTING STRUCTURE

The Regional Planning Director will report directly to the Regional Planning Director. You will work directly, day to day with our Planning Directors, local markets, and channel delivery specialists to ensure consistent high-quality output for our client stakeholders.

In this role you will have two direct reports, a planning account manager & a planning account executive. Supporting the delivery requirements for the markets you cover within the region.

SKILLS
  • 5 years+ of strong media planning & buying experience. Ideally local and global.
  • Well versed in media planning across channels (with a digital focus on social, Search & programmatic) and have knowledge about connecting digital and offline media.
  • Understanding of brand and demand media planning capabilities.
  • Excellent client facing communication & presentation skills.
  • To be data-driven and detail oriented, questioning wisdoms and suggesting new approaches
  • Confidence in presenting conceptual topics in a simple, meaningful manner, with the ability to transform marketing challenges into solutions
  • Proven track record of working closely with clients on projects and ability to balance client goals and profitability
  • A thorough understanding of how digital media supports and integrates with other media channels, both owned and paid
  • Hands on knowledge tools such as GA 360, search trends, ad servers ( e.g. GCM), social analytics (e.g. Crimson Hexagon), data visualization & analysis tools

The individual will be expected to use their own initiative to manage and coordinate workstreams to deliver integrated campaigns, spanning multiple teams. You will lead by example, creating an environment where all members of the team have an opportunity to fulfil their potential and deliver exceptional work for our clients.

  • Owner of the end-to-end client key deliverables for your market/s and team, and work in full collaboration with the local connector as one Mindshare unit. ( e.g. quarterly/yearly planning & QBR process)
  • Maintain clear, regular contact with senior Volvo account leadership to surface successes and challenges, to be shared or remedied quickly before escalation

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITES IN DETAIL

Delivering client performance

  • Focusing on integration across central and local to drive digital strategy & data driven marketing in line with offline activations and brand goals
  • In partnership with local team and hub lead - lead the planning conversation for Volvo client stakeholders
  • Lead and present strategies, media plans/ documents incorporating communication goals, recommendations, rationale,

ideas and implementation, planning costs and budget splits and KPI's relevant to your markets

  • Collaborate with varying teams on plans, insights and recommendations
  • Ensure reporting is focused on actionable insight. Be able to surface and share insights back to the client, and work with the team to surface optimisation opportunities
  • Develop understanding of the Volvo business - across new cars, used cars, business, aftersales and subscriptions
  • Maintain and manage a clear annual plan for all focus markets that denotes upcoming campaigns, activities and timeline requirements

Developing our product :

  • Support the activation lead to create and maintain account roadmaps for every client covering planning and channel development and maturity

Driving our process

  • In partnership with local team and hub lead - lead the planning conversation for Volvo client stakeholders
  • Lead and present strategies, media plans/ documents incorporating communication goals, recommendations, rationale, ideas and implementation, planning costs and budget splits and KPI's
  • Collaborate with team on plans, insights and recommendations
  • Ensure reporting is focused on actionable insight. Be able to surface and share insights back to the client, and work with the team to surface optimisation opportunities
  • Develop understanding of the Volvo business - across new cars, used cars, business, aftersales and subscriptions
  • Involvement in regional Joint Business Plan workstreams with Facebook and Google
  • Surface and share great work from the team, internally & externally.
  • Contribute to case studies. Points of View and lead area of planning expertise to support the team keeping on top of the latest trends or tech.
  • A clear and concise style of writing with confident, persuasive presentation skills.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local client leads, offering strategic guidance to help grow the business and strengthen the relationship.
