Overview of job

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the business planning, financial reporting, commercial support, governance, and operational excellence for our Audio Commercial Finance organisation.

Measures of success -

Responsibilities of the role

  • Partner with the Audio commercial teams to deliver their short- and longer-term business targets and objectives
  • Financial reporting, management, and planning lead for our Audio commercial consolidated business across all key reporting periods. Ownership of the P&L, budget, forecasts and KPIs for your business area, ensuring timely delivery, completeness and accuracy for all reporting requirement with supporting commentary and analysis; deliver Shareholder and Board reporting for Audio
  • Responsible for headcount monitoring and governance for National commercial
  • As a key contact between the business and the finance team, you'll spend significant time building relationships with departmental heads, providing robust cases and commercial analysis, identifying efficient consistent ways to communicate performance, and providing financial planning & commercial analytical support
  • Create financial models to support key projects, business reviews and deal appraisals for your area. Deliver insights and recommendations through use of high-quality analysis, data and business insight
  • Maintain high levels of financial management and controls to support your business area and the group overall
  • Embrace new technology and the finance system to create robust, accurate and timely management information and use analysis and data to make valuable contributions to the numbers. Minimise manual processes to free up time to focus on analytical, value improving work
  • Support our National Sales organisations through market analysis and insights, performance reporting and commission scheme structures. Partner with our data science and inventory management teams to analyse clients, sectors, pricing, discounts and inventory optimisation
  • Lead, train and manage a team of three direct reports to deliver high standard of support for this complex and strategically important business area. Focus on training and development, diversity and inclusion, clear goal setting, respect, collaboration and celebrating success
  • Look to challenge the status quo, drive change and champion efficient ways of working

What you will need

The ideal candidate will be proactive and willing to develop and implement innovative solutions, capable of the following:

  • A proven ability to build relationships and work as a business partner within a company, demonstrating confidence, strong influencing skills and excellent verbal and written communication
  • You'll need to be a lateral thinker who can solve problems and deliver solutions to the business, whilst at the same time ensuring we stick to the rules and audit requirements are met
  • To demonstrate a track record of driving change, improvement and challenge through an organisation or department
  • Experience of team management and development of finance professionals
  • Qualified accountant with a consistent track record of career progression in a dynamic organisation
  • Workday systems experience preferred but not essential
