In UK&I Technology we listen, influence and join the dots between business and technology strategies, working across Sky UK, Sky group and Comcast. Our unique insight smooths the way for the delivery of roadmaps, programmes and projects, guaranteeing they fit with Sky's big picture and strategic imperatives!

We are looking for a Programme Managers to be responsible for leading on UK&I strategic and complex initiatives!

What you'll do

• You will be responsible for leading initiatives from a Technology point of view, from initiation through the delivery lifecycle

• You will lead the E2E delivery of initiatives across UK& I CTO, across our delivery partners in Group CTO and wider Sky partners

• In conjunction with your peers, you ensure a smooth transition of projects from pipeline through to delivery, develop plans, so we are setup to achieve the desired outcome. Monitor progress to plan and design a recovery strategy if project deviates from baseline plan;

• Design and run effective program-level meetings to communicate status and coordinate efforts; Proactively identifying and solving gaps, risk and issues, rather than just reporting progress from engineering.

• Support the simplification of complex technical problems into tangible practical solutions and where required facilitating trade-off discussions.

• Publish effective status updates able to serve a variety of audiences and in a variety of modern mediums from project team member to Executive;

• Creating, maintaining and executing deployment and rollout strategies where required. You will work with the relevant SMEs across the department on balancing business value with technical feasibility and ensuring we support our architectural evolution, technical and business roadmaps

What you'll bring

• Friendly, approachable, inspiring and collaborative leader, model of agile leadership

• Ideally you will have experience of executing scaled Agile methodologies/best practices (i.e. SAFe), driving a model of continuous delivery, organising and leading regular planning meetings, retrospectives and standups; however this is not essential

• Promotes and encourages collaboration and transparency and builds trusting relationships between business, delivery and other entities within the organisation; importantly, you will have a pragmatic results and outcome-oriented mindset, with a track record of having facilitated/influenced technology and stakeholders on large scale projects

• We need you to be an amazing facilitator who is able to resolve tension and increase collaboration towards shared goals in any situation, and who is able to establish effective relationships with a range of individuals at all levels in the organisation.

• A keen problem solver, you will be comfortable taking the initiative in quickly grasping ideas in both familiar and unfamiliar domains, and you will be able to use your business acumen and understanding of Sky's strategic objectives to prioritise and shape these ideas to aid the delivery of the project

• Finally, we want you to be capable of remaining positive when under pressure. There will be challenges and stressful times, so we want the people to be able to handle those times as positively as possible and to be seen in control of all situations and challenges
