Job Description

An exciting energy storage start-up business based in Oxford is currently recruiting for an Electrochemist to join its R&D team on a permanent basis. Acting as Electrochemist, you will play a project lead role in the growing team - developing new electrode materials for lithium metal batteries.

Electrochemist responsibilities

  • Project Lead in the international team developing new electrode materials for Li metal batteries.
  • Development and implementation of methods for analysing electrochemical processes.
  • Designing electrochemical procedures and experiments to provide thorough evaluations of developmental products.
  • Independently carrying out projects as requested.

Electrochemist requirements

  • Educated to at least a degree level in Electrochemistry, Physical Chemistry including training in electrochemical methods such as EIS.
  • Practical experience in metallic Li electrochemistry, Li-ion battery technology and related materials; knowledge of solid-state-battery technology would be an advantage.
  • Being up to date with the state-of-the-art in battery technology.
  • Well organised, able to prioritise and work with minimal supervision.
