Barker Munro recruitment is looking for an Assistant Underwriter to join this dynamic, expanding Insurance organisation. It's an amazing chance to work with some leading industry talent whilst learning directly from them!

You'll underwrite and service some of our existing accounts with the expertise of an experienced underwriter by your side. Evaluating new business by using sensible and recognised underwriting practices. Using good judgement, along with your industry insight; to increase the financial performance of the company.

One focus is maintaining a healthy renewal retention rate so the ability to offer a first class service to your clients is key especially when contacting brokers during renewal negotiations. Dealing with a broad range of risks, you will be trained to detect and assess risks that are considered both 'standard' and 'non-standard'.

We are seeking applicants who have gained some experience within the Insurance industry and have a desire to work within Underwriting. Training and guidance will be provided along with the opportunity to study CII/ Dip CII qualifications. We are seeking energetic, driven individuals with strong communication and social skills with clients and colleagues alike; you're also be highly numerate. If you are motivated, ambitious and compassionate then you will slot in well to the team and provide a first class service to the clients.
