CDM Manager - London

Working in the Pre-construction team focusing on the CDM (Construction, Design, Management) regulations ensuring they are compliant throughout the design stages.

Salary: £57,000 - £64,000 basic + Package

Location: London

Hybrid working pattern - 2 - 3 days in the office and 2 - 3 days working from home.

Role Description

The Resolute Group is working in partnership with a consultancy heavily involved with HS2 working across the London tunnels, C2 / C3 and the next phase 2b. This role is to lead and produce Health and Safety procedures for the Designer, ensure that CDM (Construction Design Management) regulations are considered in the design development by all disciplines, and be responsible for coordinating and producing asset-specific CDM registers.

The CDM Manager owns the CDM Risk Register for the design packages falling into this consultancies Scope of Works. This is a key tool for identifying, recording and managing health and safety hazards and risks on the project. The CDM manager's role includes acting as a focal point for communication of CDM related matters, provision of advice to designers and monitoring progress with hazard identification, management and communication.

Day-to-day duties will vary but could include:

  • Coordinating design team meetings, work closely with the Engineering team to ensure health and safety is considered at the design stage.
  • Assisting the team in the development of H&S arrangements / Project Briefs.
  • Developing design guides on reviewing design risk assessments.
  • Responsible to revise drawings and input/advice on residual risks to be included in SHE boxes by each discipline.
  • Responsible for compliance with CDM requirements, specifically the Designers' requirements as set out in Regulation 9 of the Construction Design and Management Regulations 2015.

This is working on HS2 so you need to come from a Civil Engineering background, and understanding major projects or at least packages of works that are part of a larger scheme. Ideally tunnelling but open to any of the following infrastructure sectors.

  • Rail
  • Highways
  • Airports
  • Water
  • Environmental

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Engineering professional qualification (min HNC)
  • Minimum of NEBOSH Certificate, Ideally NEBOSH Diploma desirable.
  • Experience of being in a Health & Safety or CDM position with in the Civil Engineering sector.
