Join the RWE renewables team as an Offshore Wind SCADA Engineer responsible for SCADA and Communications for projects primarily in UK and other countries worldwide and help us shape the future of renewable energy.

Your future plans

  • Leads the 2nd and 3rd Layer support for the communication and SCADA systems (HV&AUX Scada (Substation) and WTG Scada) for the assigned and operational Offshore Windfarms
  • Responsible for troubleshoot the relevant systems in case of failure and coordinating the involvement of suppliers and stakeholders when required
  • Manage Root Cause Analysis on Monitoring & Control infrastructure failures and malfunctions suggesting detailed engineering solutions
  • Design new solutions responding to Operational Requirements or needs of Optimization
  • Accountable for tracking associated systems life expectancy and coordinate the actions for their life extension (upgrades, refreshes, replacements)
  • Create implementation manuals and troubleshooting manuals, as build engineering documentation and keep them up to date in the assigned documentation platforms
  • Participate in the adaptation of the Company Global Cyber Security policies to the associated site processes and coordinate the actions resulting from them
  • Be an active member of an international team in which knowledge, experience, successes and lessons learnt are continuously shared
  • Enable good working relationship and knowledge exchange with other teams within the renewables business

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree or equivalent in a relevant technical or engineering discipline
  • Experience in Offshore Windfarms HV and WTG SCADA systems and its infrastructure as well as in control systems, automation, SCADA, PLC's, RTU's and IED's
  • Experience in some of the most used Industrial Communication Protocols (especially OPC-family, IEC-104, Modbus and MMS)
  • Knowledge in Communication Systems commonly used in Offshore Windfarms (Tetra, VHF, 4G, IP Telephony)
  • Ability to carry on risk analysis and its mitigation plans
  • Capability to handle multiple assignments as needed and plan them dependent on project priority
  • Willingness to work offshore, travel and motivation to spend periods of time abroad
  • Fluent in written and spoken English. German is a plus
