Your role

As Head of Partnerships & Transactions APAC you will be responsible for developing and executing technology- and regional partnership strategies to support development pipeline growth and managing participations for existing partnerships and joint ventures. As of now, RWE Renewables is creating opportunities to develop renewables assets in India, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and Australia. The position holder can be based in either of those countries, but also in one of our major locations such as Essen, Germany, or Swindon, UK.

Your tasks

  • Delivering the APAC RWE Renewables commercial partnership strategy with third party investors
  • Building up market intelligence (in alignment with Global Accounts) and relevant investor know-how to identify investment opportunities and anticipate developments
  • Supporting strategic portfolio analysis and respective optimization measures incl. recommendations for structuring and delivery of respective transactions
  • Supporting of business case and auction model development by providing Partnerships & Transactions relevant assumptions regarding sell-down and competitor cost of capital
  • Transaction management for small scale M&A EV
  • Providing support to greenfield and brownfield development on demand
  • Managing relationships with existing partners regarding the existing investments in context of participation management activities
  • Market screening to identify potential partners and their demand/preferences, development of complementary partner profiles and matching of preferences with RES development and operating assets as well as complementary services
  • Initiating new contacts/relationships with partners and market players as well as maintenance of existing ones
  • Exploring preferences, risk appetite etc. of investor types by fostering regular exchange (e.g. via project workshops)


Your profile

  • University degree in economics, law or science with distinction
  • Extensive relevant work experience in M&A, transactions and project management
  • In depth understanding or our business model, regulatory and technical developments as their potential implications on strategy and operations
  • Strong commercial mindset and financial acumen
  • Profound understanding of regulatory frameworks in different jurisdictions/markets as well as the correlating decision making processes
  • Relationship management and partnering expertise
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis
  • Fluent English language skills are mandatory, other languages welcome
