This is an exciting time to join an experienced and growing organisation and be part of our friendly, supportive team. We are a specialist provider of children's residential care, education, Activity Residential Care and therapy for young people who present with challenging social, emotional, educational and behavioural difficulties. We currently have 11, high-quality homes situated throughout the and New Forest area and Wiltshire/Hampshire border, with high staff to child ratios.
The successful candidate will manage a multi-occupancy children's home up to a maximum of four children, delivering high-quality care. A therapeutic, child-centred approach is an integral part of what we do at New Forest Care and our model of care reflects the process of Dyadic Development Psychotherapy (DDP) and PACE.
The role will include, but is not limited to:
The day-to-day management of the home.
The development of the home and wider service.
Leadership and support of staff and the contribution to the continuous improvement of standards and practice.
Working as part of the Senior Management Team, leading the care division towards the overall corporate strategic vision and priorities for operational development, planning and delivery.
Requirements of the Registered Children's Home Manager:
Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care (or equivalent).
UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
At least 3 years' experience of working in a residential childcare setting.
At least 2 years' experience in a managerial position (Deputy Manager/Team Leader considered).
Full understanding of relevant legislation and regulations.
Candidates will need to be:
Able to work under pressure and make decisions in stressful situations.
An excellent communicator, both verbally and in written format.
A committed team player.
Mature, responsible and level-headed.
