What ASEND Tuition Is
Our inspirational tutors support children and young adults with SEND. Many pupils with SEND have become disengaged with their learning. We support people whose needs aren't currently supported in settings such as schools. We tutor students face to face in a range of settings including homes, schools, and community centres. You may be an experienced tutor or teacher, or have experience of working with children and young people in a therapeutic way. We aim to support them at their home or in the community and re-engage them in their learning, so they continue their educational development. ASEND tuition is normally part-time, taking place during school hours, five days a week.
Our tutees have a range of individual interests, needs and abilities, and we work hard to match the tutor with the tutee who can most benefit from their skills and expertise. We welcome people with a broad range of backgrounds and knowledge to meet the very diverse needs of our young people. Some of our tutors specialise in SEN with a focus on certain academic subjects or learning needs and others work with specific behaviours related to SEN. Others have a background on childhood development. Some of our pupils who have deep-seated anxiety or mental health issues linked to their special needs work very well with tutors that are qualified Play, Art, Drama, Performance, Music, or Dance and Movement therapists.
About ASEND
ASEND is a highly specialist SEND business, placing dedicated SEND professionals in school and services throughout the UK.
Since being established in 2011, ASEND has emerged amongst the forefront of leading SEND businesses and have successfully placed professionals into different schools, colleges and services across the country. Pioneers across the sector, we have helped to institute a unique and fresh approach to the teaching and learning of SEND pupils, many of whom have seen remarkable progress.
In 2019 we were asked to support our first pupil at their home because the school felt they couldn't meet his needs any further and they stopped attending. That pupil then successfully transitioned into a new school place and we were asked to support another young person. Over the next three years we have supported children and young people across numerous London Boroughs, Local Authorities just outside London and various schools. Many of whom made it into a new school or return to their school with the support of our bespoke tutoring service.
We see ourselves as a SEND company rather than a recruitment agency. Meaning that we do more than just staffing for SEN education. Our Directors all have a unique understanding of SEND and between them share a wealth of knowledge and experience unparalleled in the field. Our team all have a passion for helping young people with SEN overcome barriers and progress. Your experience with us and our young people will therefore feel very different to what you may normally expect as a result.
