Nursery practitioner Are you a compassionate and caring individual who would like to work with children as a nursery practitioner or nursery nurse? The client: The Nurseries are located in South London in Wandsworth (SW18), Tooting (SW17) and Sutton (SM1). They have fantastic Nurseries which are well known amongst the local community. They are looking for experienced qualified nursery practitioners to join their fantastic team. The children's centre is looking for qualified nursery practitioners who are enthusiastic towards working with children and have a genuine interest in working with children. The role is full-time (40 hours per week) for this permanent nursery practioner position. Responsibilities for the Nursery Practitioner role: Take responsibility for the security and wellbeing of all children within the room Deliver good practice regarding individual & group work with children To work within the room to ensure children s care and learning needs are always met under the guidance of the room leader Develop excellent communications with parents/guardians encouraging them to participate in their child s progress & development Develop excellent communications with all children and members of the team Have a good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and company curriculum document, maintaining regular updates To organise and ensure all children s individual plans Ensure all your key children s observations and folders are kept up to date Contribute to creating a stimulating & attractive classroom environment in conjunction with staff team Essential Skills for the Nursery Practitioner role: A warm, caring, and patient nature Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills The ability to work with young children and their families in a sensitive and positive way A sense of responsibility Creative ideas for activities An interest in child development An awareness of child safety issues The ability to work in a team A willingness to develop your skills Desirable The successful candidate must have: Prior experience in working in a childrens centre or working with children. In addition to this the successful nursery practitioner must have a minimum of level 2 NVQ in childcare and be a reliable and punctual individual. DBS or willing to complete a DBS check before they begin employment But most importantly the successful nursery practitioner must have a passion for working with children and contributing to their Early years development. The successful nursery practitioner must also be an individual who has a proactive approach to working with children with excellent communicative skills.
