An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly and supportive team here at Seafield Veterinary Group, Keith!

Working within 1st Opinion Small animal medicine and surgery across 3 branches in Moray. Specialist interests would be encouraged and supported. Our caseload load is wide and varied and support would be provided by an experienced Small Animal Vet Practice Lead as well as the Senior Vets and Clinical directors within the practice.

We are 50/50 split practice with Large and Small Animals. 5% equine, 45% large animals, mostly beef and sheep & 50% small animal. We have mainly been doing emergency LA work with also doing lots of herd health plans and planning. For small animal, we mostly see 1st opinion as we don't have any specialists within the practice at the moment. We see mainly cats and dogs with the occasional exotics usually rabbits and some reptiles.
Salary and Rota:
Working across 5-day week ideally (but can be flexible on this)

1:4 OOH on call shared equally with a Mixed Vet team.

During the 8-week period you'll do 2 weekends (1:4) with one Friday off, one Monday off and one Thursday off. There are always 2 vets on call at any one time. No phone duties, as phones are manned by 4 persons who just do night and weekend phones. Calls are filtered so that only necessary enquiries reach the vets on call.

Salary up to £60,000 negotiable depending on experience.

Our practice is a friendly and busy mixed practice in the Northeast of Scotland with 3 main branches. We have a strong team of 10 vets with a growing client base. Overnight Small animal care and out of hours services are provided by our Mixed practice vets at our head office in Keith. Excellent facilities available with good opportunities for specialism and career progression.
We are looking for a friendly Vet with ability to work well within a team. Good work ethic with the drive to continue to improve our small animal services, quality of care and relationships with our clients. Can work as part of a team but also have the confidence to work under own leadership. We are located in the picturesque area of Moray famed for its outdoors scenery and outdoor pursuits as well as its coastline and wildlife. Our main branch is located in Keith with links to Aberdeen, Inverness and Aviemore.
About the Team and Culture
WE have 12 vets, mostly mixed vets with some SA only vets. We have 3 vet nurses per branch, plus ample support staff on hand to make the right candidate feel at home from their first day. We currently have no specialists, but we encourage and welcome and for of specialisation the new candidate may bring. We would like a friendly and approachable individual who is willing to muck-in when the going gets tough but is willing and accepting of other who are there to help within our hard working and experienced team. We encourage and support many local charities and events annually and get involved in some annual local events.
Applicant Requirements
No experience required but is desirable, full support and encouragement will be given from day one to any successful candidate. Obviously must be BVMS and MRCVS.
