Job description
We are looking for a A330 Systems Project Manager (Fuel/ Landing Gear) to join us at Airbus in Filton, Bristol. This is in our Programme Management team - reporting to our Head of Programme and Configuration management.
The A330/ A340 Programme offers an interesting and challenging environment that covers the spectrum of aircraft activities from new developments, increasing build rates, support to aircraft build and deliveries, supporting a large in service fleet and all the issues associated with this and managing an ageing aircraft fleet.
The Project Manager is accountable for managing a portfolio of important projects and tasks mainly within the Fuel and Inerting Systems Team, but could include Landing Gear tasks as well. This will be achieved by integrating with the various stakeholder functions to ultimately deliver Programme priorities.
You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check)

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE TEAM
Key end results include ensuring project costs remain within budgets, customer priorities and expectations are managed, and that development and modification projects are delivered to the declared target or POE. This must be achieved whilst taking a global 'best for business' management approach and adhering to configuration management processes.
Ensuring that processes are in place and implemented to ensure project management and direction of cross functional teams to ultimately deliver to time, cost & quality. External integration of Engineering, Manufacturing, Procurement and Customer Services functions as well as external supplier management are key to achieving the deliverables.
Accountable for leading all of the activities within the portfolio. This is quite a challenging role which has a high profile within the Systems perimeter.
Deliver work packages in line with the agreed plan to ensure they achieve challenging time, cost and quality objectives.
This role would be suitable for an experienced Project Management candidate or someone who is looking to develop in this area. This role provides an excellent overview of the Airbus business and how the business operates.
ABOUT YOU
Experience of managing projects through the full project 'lifecycle'
Proven abilities to manage suppliers
An understanding of budget control
Good technical knowledge to enable an understanding of technical issues and challenges
An understanding of the specification, design, build and test process
Knowledge of configuration management, its tools and processes
Ability to work in a transnationally managed environment
Ability to influence and lead multi-functional teams
