Job description

A great opportunity has arisen for an IT Server Support Engineer to join Airbus Defence & Space on our Secure Communications teams at our base in Corsham, Wiltshire.

An exciting and varied area of the business, Secure Communications supports the Cyber Security project and customer from delivery to live service.

The Operations team is the single point of contact for technical conference bridge calls, which are arranged to resolve major incidents. You will fill a service support role for the Network Operations Centre to providing technical assistance and instructional documentation to the customer and orchestrate the day to day support and maintenance of the system.

Your Tasks and Accountabilities

• Provide the lead SC technical role on site in resolving service incidents, applying diagnosis, maintenance, change, upgrade and patch management and configuration control attributes
• Apply technical governance to inbound deliveries from the project transition phase to ensure they accurately reflect the live environment & are appropriately structured to enable successful technical service delivery implementation
• Consistently perform and deliver outputs within the service contract time constraints (KPI's & SLA's
• Apply Security Patches to the supported systems Security Policy. Schedule monthly DOBUS patches for updates independent specific bespoke software releases.
• Loading patches into the internal WSUS environment, test installation on the Development Environment and run regression tests, develop installation instructions and CMDB submission, test installation instructions on SRM, and supports acceptance testing
• Support to separate work for MODCERT requirements

  This role requires you to be able to attain a high level of security vetting. To avoid disappointment, please check if you are eligible to attain SC Clearance and above before applying for this role.

  
  Desired Skills and Experience

  • Strong Technical competence in Server Technologies and Networking including Data base management and software rollout including patching
  • Experience with Cisco Routers, Cisco Switches, Network Server Applications, Gateways and Firewalls
  • Further training will be provided by Airbus on specific products and applications particular to this project as developed and delivered by Airbus Defence and Space as part of this contract
