Location: Walsall Long term contract Start ASAP We at Twenty 4 Seven Education are proud to be working alongside a successful boys school in Walsall who are seeking a specialist SEMH Teaching Assistant to join their team. The School This teaching assistant role is offered in a wonderfully diverse, caring and encouraging school which has strong links with the students, their families and the local community. This is a school which OFSTED deemed good and which has high standards for students regarding attendance, punctuality, attitudes to learning and their willingness to take an active role in school life. The Role We are looking for a hardworking, patient and dedicated person to take up the role of SEMH TA. This will be a long term position, starting straight away. As an SEMH TA, you will: Work 1:1 with pupils who have specific Social, Emotional and/or Mental Health needs Work with small groups of pupils Support and get to know SEMH pupils to make sure that you understand their learning styles and can help them to better access the curriculum and make progress Support the class teachers as directed Liaise with teachers, SENCO and sometimes parents in order to provide the most appropriate support for specific pupils The candidate: Must be patient, caring and calm even in stressful situations Must have a desire to make a difference to the progress- academic, social and/or personal- of pupils with SEMH needs A Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable, preferably with specific SEMH / SEND knowledge Classroom-based experience is useful, with a successful track record of working with pupils The key benefits for working with Twenty 4 Seven Education are: Your own dedicated and friendly consultant who is available 24/7 A variety of daily and long term positions to suit your needs Competitive rates of pay Minimal administration (no time sheets!)
