Location: Hackney Role : Learning Mentor Start Date : Immediate start Contract type : Full time , Temporary to Permanent School Hours : 8.30am -4.00pm We are looking for experienced Primary and Secondary Learning Mentor, to support children. You must have a solid understanding of SEN, mainly Autism and SEMH, as you will be working 1:1 and occasionally taking small groups. This is a great opportunity for you to develop your knowledge and skills in a particular area of SEN. There will be ongoing support for your professional development, and you will join a supportive team in a school in the Hackney area. Primary/Secondary Learning Mentor Specification: A solid SEN background Autism and SEN experience Seeking someone who is creative, proactive , resilient and can get the best out of the pupils Previous experience working with Primary and Secondary children will be essential The successful candidate will have experience of supporting Primary and Secondary pupils on both a 1:1 basis, as well as supporting in small groups You will be willing to work as part of a team and be flexible, to support the needs of the pupils The successful candidate will be able to put the needs of the children at the forefront of what they do , taking into consideration any pupils in the classroom with special educational needs Able to travel daily to Hackney Benefits of working in this role : The opportunity for a permanent contract from September 2023 Competitive daily rate up to £100 per day The opportunity to work and learn in Ofsted rated Good schools An interview with the Head Teacher will be part of the selection process you will be assessed on the following: relevant Primary and Secondary experience , knowledge of Safeguarding policies, competency and situational based questions in a Primary and Secondary context . If successful at interview , this will then be followed by a trial day working with the children to assess suitability in the post.
