A brand new and exciting opportunity for an Contract Electrical Design Engineer to join a Cambridge based company who are top of their game, developing high-tech/low-volume bespoke semiconductor equipment used in a multitude of different industries. The company is doing extremely well and growing quickly. The Contract Electrical Design Engineer will be key member of the team implementing effective solutions to ensure the Company's systems remain at the forefront of technology. Key Responsibilities: Electrical design of bespoke special purpose scientific equipment. Development, planning and specification of electronic control systems, sub-systems and components. Covering fields of control, drive and sensor technology, pneumatic control, PLC and safety systems. Adopt the working practices of a modern engineering office and a company wide quality system. Requirements of Contract Electrical Design Engineer - Bespoke special purpose machinery Engineering degree in an electrical discipline or equivalent qualification/experience (minimum HNC + experience) Good knowledge in field-bus systems (DeviceNet, Ethercat) and PLC control. Recent and relevant experience in the design of drive systems, pneumatic control, and automation technology. Experience in control of electro-pneumatic/mechanical systems, 3-phase power distribution and heater control systems. Professional registration with a relevant Engineering body encouraged and preferred. Good experience of E-Plan software preferred Job Location: Cambridgeshire (Commutable from: Cambridge, Bedford, Huntingdon, St Neots, Peterborough, etc) Contract rate £35ph - £45ph ( This role is inside IR35)
