We have partnered with an international law firm who are seeking a Risk Counsel to join them on a permanent basis.
Reporting into the firms Deputy General Counsel and working closely with the Director of Risk and Head of Compliance, this is an extremely broad role. The main purpose of this role is the ensure the firms relationships with its clients are intact, as well as staying on top of regulatory developments, ensuring that the firms' policies and procedures are kept up to date. There will also be a requirement to advise on more generic risk management issues.
Further responsibilities include:
- Advising fee-earners on terms of engagement
- Negotiating the clients outside counsel policies
- Update internal policies
- Provide guidance to wider teams on a variety of tops
- Advising on regulatory issues
- Provide compliance training for partners, fee earners and support staff
- Assisting the team with complex CDD queries
- Identifying and analysing potential conflict issues
- Provide advice on legal matters such as data privacy
This is an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Solicitor who has at least 3 years' worth of relevant compliance experience gained within a legal setting. The incoming candidate must have strong experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts.
