Overview
The Mastercard Cloud Infrastructure Platform Engineering team is looking for a skilled infrastructure focused Product Owner to drive work prioritization and breakdown for teams supporting Mastercard ONE Realtime Payments services.
The role requires a technical background with knowledge of cloud architecture, security and DevOps practices. The successful candidate would work closely with stakeholders across architecture/security/operations/product/platform to understand, question, and breakdown requirements into meaningful engineering tasks.
Responsibilities
o Set the direction for infrastructure/platform DevOps delivery teams - driving business outcomes.
o Managing stakeholders, agreeing requirements and priorities
o Breaking down task into clear/concise technical work items with acceptance criteria.
o Creating platform roadmaps
o Setting the scope for platform releases
o Managing vendors and technology upgrade cycles. Negotiating Vendor contracts
o Participate in Agile ceremonies - planning, end of sprint demos, retrospectives. Driving continual improvements.
o Keep abreast of evolving technology landscape
o Drive an MVP mentality across the teams, becoming a first point of contact for engineering delivery scope.
o Own design breakdown, taking input from high level requirements and architecture.
o Work closely with architecture and engineering leads to drive design decision and direction.
o Include architectural perspectives into all design decisions.
o Break designs down into meaningful tasks.
Experience
• Previous experience acting as an Agile Product Owner.
• History of successfully architecting and designing complex platform solutions.
• Active participant in global technical communities (e.g., Tech Leadership Network)
• Experience architecting across Azure/AWS infrastructure and services
• Working experience in a modern development environment, with automation pipelines and Infrastructure as a Code using SDLC processes
• Solid understanding of Cyber security concepts, including threats, vulnerabilities, security operations, encryption, boundary defence, authentication, and risk management
• Experience operating within a regulated industry.
• Experience managing stakeholders and competing priorities
• Successfully contributed to continuous process improvement initiatives and automation activities
• Systematic problem-solving approach, with effective communication skills and a sense of drive
